Special ‘Availability Event’ Pre-Order Offer

Currently, there are 2 benefits to becoming a paying Cullect.com member: the ability to create more than 1 reading list, and to make them private.

Today, the maximum number of reading lists you can create (there’s no limit on the number you can curate) is 12.

The new version (v1.3 ‘Big Train to Hollywood’) will introduce the Unlimited plan - all the reading lists you can create (and yes, you can name them as well).

This will be at a higher monthly rate than the current 12 Reading List plan ($24/mn) but since Cullect is down, you can ‘pre-order’ the Unlimited plan for $24/mn.

This offer is open to anyone and expires when ‘Big Train’ is released.

If you want in, leave a comment or send a direct message to @cullect.

Thanks,
Garrick Van Buren.

“Availability Event”

Cullect is currently down.

I know what the issue is and My People are on the case. Conservatively, I’m thinking we’ll down for the rest of the day.

If you’re thinking, “This gives Garrick the moment he needs to launch ‘Big Train to Hollywood’”, you may be right.

Confirmation or denial forthcoming.

UPDATE 30 July 2008
I’ve got good news & bad news.
You already know the bad news; As of this writing Cullect is still down.
On the good side;

  1. the infrastructure upgrades that will prevent this from happening again are nearly in place (I’m anticipating later today).
  2. the Big Train to Hollywood release will launch shortly after Cullect comes back up. (I’m anticipating 1 day after Cullect is back up).
  3. Waiting by the Station

The 1 week postponement came and went without the release.

While I’m bummed, I’m also grateful. There were 3 major UI issues I was fighting with that I’m now very happy about.

Now there’s just 1 more item on the To Do list before I start the deployment process.

    Big Train Update

I’m postponing the release of Cullect.com - Big Train for a week while I revisit some of the UI decisions in the /profile section.

Until then, here’s a screenshot of the new reading list page. In the Flickr Notes, I’ve called out a few major things that are different. There are at least 5 more changes you can see if you’re familiar with Cullect.com

1 Week Until ‘Big Train to Hollywood’ Leaves the Station

Progress on the next major release of Cullect is going pretty smoothly with just a week to go. That also means the To Do list is getting shorter.

Here’s a quick run down of what you can expect on July 16th:

    • Integration with 7 more web services including corresponding keyboard shortcuts
    • Cleaned up and simplified interface.
    • Greater flexibility in:
      • sorting the items in your reading list.
      • presentation of your reading list.
      • the data displayed in the Feed Stats widget.

Why July 16th? MIMA’s Info Overload Panel Event

Here’s the reason for the July 16th release date: I’ll be on a panel with Mike Keliher and Greg Swan talking about minimizing information overload presented by the Minnesota Interactive Marketing Association.
